AQUA-ADD PROJECT PARTNERS MET IN BREMERHAVEN, GERMANY Following the official project launch in Eindhoven, the Netherlands in March 2012, the 2nd meeting and Aqua Forum of the Aqua-add project took place in Germany hosted by the Municipality of Bremerhaven. Aqua-add is a European project focusing on knowledge development and exchange in the field of urban water management. The Aqua-Forum met at the Fishery harbour of Bremerhaven.
The four day conference started with the welcome of all partners by Anke Krein, Bremerhaven councillor for environment and Claudia Harms for the Bremerhaven team. Frank van Swol made a refresh of the meeting and conclusions in Eindhoven. Transnational work started with working sessions on Business Models, Added Value, Stakeholder Engagement and Decision Support Tool. The partners joined a boat - trip demonstrating the Bremerhaven case and the relation to other EU-programmes (EFRE). Stakeholder engagement and the added value of water were also highlighted and discussed in detail. During a trip on the harbour bus, the partners got insight to Bremerhaven's maritime key industries, the container harbours and the new challenges on offshore-wind-energy.
The 2nd Steering Committee meeting handled the most important financial and administrative project issues and the discussion of partners' tasks as well as relevant communication aspects. The Aqua Forum offered the opportunity to share experiences and get interesting and useful information on the Bremerhaven case study, on business models, stakeholder engagement and added value of water, brought into practice by all partners.
